In celebration of not having school on Monday, my room mates and I decided to get dressed up and go hang out with a couple friends. After a night of watching the celebrities look fabulous in the red carpet outfits, it only seemed appropriate. I did not dress as extravagantly as they did on tv, though, don't get me wrong. Yet, I did put a little more effort in than usual and even wore some heels! I paired my silk blouse with high waisted, flared shorts that accentuated my waist, with some black tights and wedges. Altogether it is my favortie outfit to date!

I'm not ususally one to do New Years resolutions, but this year I decided I would challenge myself. As a fashion design student I decided it was time to get dressed every day and get over my irrational fear of wasting a significant outfit on an insignificant day. Why not look fabulous every day of my life? So I'm going to document my outfits every day for this year. All 366 of them. I hope you find inspiration my fellow fashionistas!

Saturday 1/14
I actually got dressed for no reason on Saturday. I didn't have class, I wasn't going out with friends, nothing was going on. It made my day so much better though, just because I put a little effort into my outfit! Auburn was playing Ole Miss in basketball so I went to the game. I also wore my glasses all day!

Friday 1/13
Friday the 13th - only bad things are expected to happen, unless you decide to go out and have fun with your friends. I changed my outfit about 15 times before I decided on this edgy little ensemble: A cropped sweater with black skinnies, boots, and chunky black earrings!

Thursday 1/12
I didn't manage to get dresssed for class, but we had a spring rush party so I had a chance to get dressed up Thursday night! I wore a jacket my mom handed down to me over a white tee and jeans with boots. I paired it with my everyday jewelry and a cute bangle I got from my friend for christmas. It wasn't an outfirt I typically would wear, but it was fun dressing differently and picking out items in my closet I rarely wear.

Wednesday 1/11
Since I don't have class until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Wedensday, and Friday, I have an ample amount of time to make myself look presentable for class. I wore one of the sweaters my mom handed down to me over the break because it was "too young" for her. But, hey, I got some sweaters out of it, so that's fine with me. I paired the sweater with skinny jeans, riding boots, and my everyday jewelry.
Tuesday 1/10 - Chapter
Chapter is held on Tuesday for my sorority, giving me the perfect excuse to looks super cute for no good reason. I'm a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and love it! I wore a blue skirt and black top with some black flats with bows on them. Super cute. What was funny is that my room mates and I all had the same mindset when getting dressed I guess, because we all walked out in blue and black.
Monday 1/9 - National Championship
I know I don't go to either LSU or Alabama, but two SEC teams were playing so I had to watch. I was expecting the game to be just as boring as the first (which it was), but I was very very disappointed by the outcome! It was the perfect excuse to get dressed up again tho, so of course I did, and headed downtown to watch the game. I sported my favorite team's colors, purple and gold, and cheered on the tigers til the very end.

First Day Back At School
My first day of class was today! It was perfect (despite the rain) because I didn't start class until 1:00pm. That means I didn't have to worry about what time I woke up, got to eat lunch whenever I wanted, and had time to get ready for the day! Since it was raining I had the opportunity to wear my cute new wellies. And since the "game of the century" is happening AGAIN today, I had to wear my favorite team's colors... purple of course. GEAUX TIGERS!
Weekend Outfits
Friday was my last full day home and my last day of babysitting for the break! I got lots of compliments on my shirt, which was wonderful to hear since I don't wear it a lot. Saturday I headed back to the loveliest village on the plains! I didn't wear anything fancy to move myself in, but my friends and I went out that night and I wore my new favorite jeans!!! They are green :) If you know me, you know that I love bright colors, especially in the form of pants or tights. It was the perfect thing to wear on my first night back paired with some black wedges and a flowy black top. Sunday I didn't get dressed up, so I guess I failed for the first time since the new year, but I will just have to make up for it by getting dressed up twice in one day!

Day 4 - barefoot bluejean night
Today I dressed in a southern classic - a white tshirt, blue jeans, and cowboy boots. YEEHAW! I did give it a little twist by adding a cardigan and necklace, but deep down I was dressing like a true southern girl. It's not suprising since I attend a "cow college" and live south of the mason dixon... more like south of I-10. There are so many songs about girls in white tshirts and jeans that it made me laugh when thats what came on my ipod as I drove around today. Obviously, this outfit chose me, I didn't choose it! Oh an I got to wear the necklace I made today. It warmed up a tad but I still decided to wear a sweater, didn't quite feel right wearing short sleeves in January. I guess that's the curse of southern weather though!

Day 4 - job search
My mission today was to find jobs for the summer. I was somewhat successful, but most people told me to come back in April. Obviously if I'm inquiring about jobs in January for the summer I DON'T LIVE HERE YEAR ROUND. But whatever, I'll just email and maybe come home for a weekend. Back to my outfit, though. The idea was to wear something I could throw on for work in a boutique and look cute. Some places I walked in and the people working there were wearing similar things! Yay me! All in all a successful day and my favorite outfit to date. The jewelry I wore were gold hoops with a michael kors tortise shell watch and pearl drop necklace.

Day 3
Well, this morning I got woken up a bit before I would have liked because I had to run errands with my dad so my outfit is a bit more casual today then I would have liked. Realized I didn't even put jewelry or make up on before I walked out the door about midway through the day.
OH! I also made a necklace today. Let me know what you think:)

Day 2
Luckily today my best friend called and asked to go to lunch with me so I had an excuse to get dressed and leave the house. Nothing too special, but I did wear a shirt and scarf that had been sitting in my closet for a year! Cute, but casual for the first cold day of winter I have had in a while. I'm new at putting images together so pardon the horrid job on my photoshop rendering of my outfit!
Day 1 - New Years Day
The main reason this resolution started was because I got woken up early to go to church. No, I had not been out partying the night before, I was actually babysitting two children and was home by 12:30 and in bed by 1. Exciting I know. My mom had not informed me we were going to church, therefore waking me up 20 minutes before we had to leave was what I conceived to be the worst thing to ever happen to me. It takes me much longer than that to put an outfit together. Yet, as I was pulling clothes out of my closet, I decided to be bold. I wasn't going to wear my usual conservative heels and dress, I was going to wear red pants. And what to pair it with? Well I knew after plenty of pintrest searching on previous nights that I just had to pair it with my white silk blouse. And thus I decided to quit wishing I had places to wear things and just wear them.
Next time, I'll be sure to actually take a picture of my outfit and not have to scour the web for images of my clothes and that way there is a better idea of how I wore it!
